Book review: Precious Jewels Devotional by Dorcas Omodieke

Hello Ladies and Girls,

How are you doing?

Sometimes last year, a dear friend and a precious sister, Dorcas Omodieke published a beautiful devotional 'Precious Jewels' for ladies. I had the privilege of reading this devotional and that it blessed me, is an understatement. Reading through it opened my eyes yet again to a lot of things about my identity in Christ. Every topic in the book was explained in a simple manner, and yet very deep truths were shared.

Here are some profound truths as shared in the devotional:

*God made you for a special purpose

*God is very detailed about you and you are precious to him

*We are called to know God

*We love Him because He first loved us

* I have the ability to speak and create

And many more truths of God’s word.

Today, I will be sharing with you, a portion of the book. To get the full experience of this powerful book, please click on this link

So many ladies give a lot of time and attention to grooming their bodies. Almost all the compliments they have gotten and the attention they have received have been because of their bodies so they view it as an asset to be invested in. A huge percentage of their earnings go into different kinds of cosmetics and products to enhance their physical beauty. A good part of their day goes into grooming their bodies. While there is absolutely nothing wrong in taking care of your body, it should however, not be at the expense of the real you. That’s right. There is more to you than meets the eye. You are not your body! You are actually a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. If the human being is a body how is it that when a person dies, the body is still very much present but we say the person is gone? This is because the real person has left. The body is like a house for you. Just the way astronauts need a space suit to stay grounded on space and not float away, your body is your earth-suit. Your body is what keeps you on this earth. So, it is important to take proper care of your body but it would be very unwise to give more attention to a house than to the residents of that house.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 NKJV

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26 NIV

God is a Spirit and you were created in His image and after His likeness. He created you to fellowship with Him, so you are in the same class as He is. He is a Spirit; you are a spirit. At the fall, man died spiritually but Jesus came to restore man to God. Once you got born again, your spirit became reborn and now you can fellowship with God and interact with Him. Now you can be led by His Spirit through Spirit to spirit communion. Now you can access all the blessings that are yours in Christ Jesus.

CONFESSION: I am a spirit; I have a soul and I live in a body. I have been created in the image and likeness of God so I can and do enjoy intimate fellowship with my Father.  The Holy Spirit lives in me and I am sensitive to His leadings and dealings.
