GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND OUR STRENGTH

Image
Some days ago, during our family devotion, my husband shared a scripture that blessed my heart so much, and I thought to share here too, especially at a time like this. Psalms 46:1-5 Verse 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.   Did you see that? God is our refuge. I had to check the dictionary for the meaning of refuge. A refuge is a safe place in times of trouble. A hideout, an hiding place, a place that provides shelter or safety. That is exactly who and what God is to us. God is our refuge. God is a place where we find shelter in times of trouble. God is our hiding place. God is our safe place. God is our hideout. What an encouragement!!! I like to share some other scriptures that talks about God being our refuge. I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalms 91:2 KJV The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’ Deu

SOCIAL MEDIA AND SOUL WINNING- Ayodeji Johnson Ajibare

Image
One of the greatest inventions of this present age is undoubtedly the social media. However, although the word “social media” doesn’t occur in the bible, there are scriptures that imply this particular subject.  And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Matthew 28:18‭-‬19 NKJV and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away. I Corinthians 7:31 NKJV “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” Daniel 12:4 NKJV Soul winning is only effective when you go to where the people are and interestingly, the social media has brought the nations to us. Right wherever you are, with internet facility you singlehandedly have access to millions of people eve

How to respond to God's love

Image
In previous posts, I have shared extensively on the  love walk and we have had a  peep into God's love.  How do we respond appropriately to God's love?  We respond to God's love by believing in His love. Knowing precedes believing. If you don't know God's love, you cannot respond appropriately. Knowledge comes from God's word. Soak yourself up in the scriptures. Meditate on God's love for you. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. I John 4:16 NKJV You need to know and believe the love that God has for you. Stop believing that God is waiting for your downfall. Stop believing that God only loves you when you do not fall short of His standards. Start believing that God loves you just the way you are. Believe that God wants the best for you, believe in the love that God has for you. What will the revelation of God's love do for you? 1. It will

A PEEP INTO GOD'S LOVE 3- Seven Characteristics of God's love

Image
And so today, I would like to write about the characteristics of God's love. 1. GOD'S LOVE IS SELF-STARTING In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to  be the propitiation for our sins. I John 4:10 NKJV This is love: He loved us long before we loved him . It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins. 1 John 4:10 TPT Did you see that?  Not that we loved Him, but that He loved us. He loved us long before we loved him. His love started on its own, not because we loved him or because we did anything to earn the love. 2. GOD'S LOVE IS COMPASSIONATE “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15 NKJV See what God is saying, 'He will not forget you'. You are always on his mind. Another scripture  says that our walls are contin

A PEEP INTO GOD'S LOVE 2- The parable of the lost son

Image
Last post, we had a  peep into the father's love. In this post, we will look at the story of the prodigal son. You can also check a related post  here . Luke 15:11-32 The story of the lost son is just a perfect example of a father's love to a lost child. Whenever I read this scripture, tears well up my eyes. There is a particular verse that stands out for me. The father ran And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. Luke 15:20 NKJV I picture the image of an old man running, almost falling, but still keeps on running, just to embrace his lost son. What could have made an old man to run, if not a deep love and longing to have the son back. The father must have been waiting for him, to have seen him from quite a great distance. That is the same way God is waiting for you. He never left, you left!!! See what I found on another  blog

A PEEP INTO GOD'S LOVE 1

Image
Yaay, we are still on the love walk series. Whaoo, I never imagined that it would go this far. It's amazing how the Spirit of God expands God's word in our hearts. In my last post,  I shared on how believing in God's love can help to love the unlovable. In this post, I would like us to have a peep into what God's love is to us. 1. God loves the world For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NKJV It is clear and explicit from this scripture that God loves the world. God loves sinners but hates their sins. Whether or not you are born again, God loves you. God did not love you because you believed in Jesus. God loved you even as a sinner. Several scriptures in the Bible has made us realized that God loved us when we didn't deserve it, when we sucked and cared less about him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and se

How can I love the unlovable

Image
In my previous posts , I shared on 'the love walk'. This present post is to answer the question on someone's heart; 'How do I love the unlovable? Yes, I am a believer, I have the nature of love, but this person seems so unlovable, so irritating and so annoying. He or she hurts me so much, and has done a lot for me. I can't get myself to love him or her. The more I try to love, the more it feels like I can't love anymore'. I have definitely been there before, not once, not twice. As much as I have been there before, I cannot totally say that I understand how you feel. What I can say however is that there's a way out. You can love the unlovable. You can love that person that has hurt you a lot. You can love that person that's so annoying and rude to you. Here are some few points to note; 1. We love by the Spirit It's impossible to love by the flesh. If you are looking to the flesh to love, that would not be possible. When you fin

THE LOVE WALK Part 2

Image
Hello Ladies, In the  last post, I highlighted that a believer in Christ has the ability to love. A believer is love and has the ability to love, because we received the nature of God which is love. If a believer is struggling to walk in love, it means that she is not working in the essence of who she is. Love is our habitat, love is who we are, love is our nature. Our response is to give expression to that nature that we have received at new birth, that is, give expression to who we are. When situations and circumstances come your way, that expects you to hate, maybe an annoying neighbor, or an irritating workmate, common, it's an avenue for you to show forth who you are and to grow in your love walk. Love is like a muscle, the more you use it, the more it stretches and becomes strong. For you to grow in your love walk, you need to use that love muscle. Situations will definitely come your way, to help you grow in love. That's not the time to start showing h

THE LOVE WALK Part 1

Image
Hello Fam, How are you today? So let's talk about 'the love walk'. As the name implies, the love walk is simply our walk in love. First thing to note is that: 1. God is love. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 God is love. Love is what God is. I would say love is more than the nature of God, love is embedded in God. It's difficult to separate God and the characteristic of love.  He is love. Second thing to note is that: 2. At new birth, we received the nature of God. What do I mean by new birth? The moment of new birth occurs at the point of accepting the lordship of Christ, the moment you got born again. At that moment, what actually happened was that you received the nature of God. Let me briefly explain what happened at new birth. Man is a spirit,
