Spiritual skills needed for year 2020- Final part

Hello lady,

I know I am taking too long on this series, but I am definitely going to end it tonight. I hope that you have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed it. You can check for the last part of the series here.

6. Listening to the word

This is another great skill to master for this year. Be conscious about hearing God's word. Remember that faith comes by hearing the word. There is the primary hearing, where you take out time to listen to God's word, preached by another person. There is the secondary hearing, where you hear God's word, from your own mouth (confession). I have written a great deal about confession in the previous post and so I would focus on the primary form of hearing here.

First step to listening to the word is by being a part of a church, where you hear God's word regularly. Church Attendance should be taken really serious this year. Church is a spiritual school where we are groomed. It's in church that we are able to receive ministry gifts.
Asides that, you could listen to God's word via several form of media, but this should not in any way affect church attendance. You can listen to messages when driving, when cooking, when resting, etc. The key is to be conscious about getting God's word into your spirit whenever and wherever possible.

7. Singing

This is another skill to master this year.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16 NKJV

Did you see that, 'singing with grace in your heart to the Lord'. Singing is way to show rejoicing, and scripture encourages us to rejoice at all times.
This year, do not let anything weigh you down. Make Melody in your heart always unto the Lord. Allow songs to well up in your spirit at all times.

speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
Ephesians 5:19 NKJV

8. Intercession

To intercede is to pray to God on behalf of someone else. Much more than you pray for yourself, this is the year to pray for others. This is the year to pray for the church, to pray for the nation, to pray for lost souls,to pray for leaders, to pray for your future or present husband, your future or present children, neighbors etc. It's a long endless list of who you can pray for, all you need is to be conscious of it.

Here are some scriptures to encourage you.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.
Psalms 122:6 NKJV

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
I Timothy 2:1‭-‬2 NKJV

With all these skills in place, I am certain of a pleasant 2020.

I remain Poise.
Loving you.
