How to make God's word your life

Hello sweet lady,

Do you know that the most important thing in the life of a believer is God's word. God's word is the instrument for spiritual growth and the sure way to know and enjoy all our realities in Christ.

How to make God's word your life

What does it mean for something to be one's life?

1.  It means you came into being by that thing
2. It means that your existence depends on that thing
3. It means that without that thing, you are dead
4. It means that thing is your support system and you must seriously take care of it
All these are exactly what God's word is to a believer.
The word is our life!!!
Our existence depends on God's word

You might be wondering, why is God's word our life?

How to make God's word your life

1. We were born by the word

You see, God's word is very instrumental in salvation. We got born again after we heard the word. That's why there is need to preach the word to get people saved. As we move about our daily activities, let's be conscious of this; there's  no way people  are going to be saved, if the word is not preached.
2 Corinthians5:19 talks about the ministry of reconciliation. Every believer has this ministry and our tool in the ministry is the word of reconciliation. That's how powerful the word is. The word has the ability to reconcile men to God, it has the ability to get men born again. We were born by the word. Glory

2. We are sustained by the word

You cannot expect to be born by something and then not be sustained by it. The word is necessary for a believer to be sustained. When we got born again, we got into a place called Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
'If any man be in Christ'
Christ is a location, Christ is a place we come  into and this Christ is the word of God. So you see, we were born by the word, into the word. We were born into the kingdom of God's word. The word should be the guiding principle of a believer. In the kingdom, there's a way to live, there's a way to speak, there's a way to interact with people, all in the word.
The difference between two believers is the word. The word makes the difference. It is the knowledge of the word, that causes a believer to rest, and another believer to struggle.
In that place called Christ, the word is our value system, it's our culture, our tradition, not hollywood or Bollywood.
We make our decisions by the word, we consult the word, not our friends, not even our prophets.
Having known that we were born into the word by the word, we need to:

1. Commit ourselves to the ministry of God's word

Yes, giving ourselves continually, committing ourselves to the word, starts with a desire. A desire for the word will propel you to go for the word. After being born again, there's a place where God wants you to be. The difference between where you are and where God wants you to be is growth, which can only happen by the word. You need to begin to make God's word your utmost desire, that you may grow.
I Peter 2:2

2. Give attention to the word

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:6‭-‬9 NKJV

This is what it means to give attention to the word.
It says to talk of them when you sit in your house, and walk by the way, and lie down, and rise up. Bind them on your hands, write them on your gates. In short, let the word take you over, nothing else but the word.

Another scripture I love:

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:20‭-‬22 NKJV
It's a conscious effort. God is not going to do that for you.

a. To incline your ears means to put your ears to where the word is coming from. There is a primary hearing and a secondary hearing.
Primary hearing includes listening to word filled messages, going to church and hearing the word.
Secondary hearing is the hearing that takes place when you read and meditate and confess the word by yourself. As you read and meditate and speak the word, you are inclining your ears.

b. Do not let them depart from your eyes: read the word, study the word, paste the word in your room, on your phone, on your computer, in your kitchen, everywhere. The word must not depart from your eyes.

c. Keep it in the midst of your heart.  This talks about meditation.

Meditation means to set your mind on something till you get obsessed with it, till it becomes your thought pattern and you can't but think about it. What you meditate upon will determine your lifestyle. Rather than meditate on your worries, meditate on the word. God's word contains grace, Acts 20:32 talks about the word of his grace. When you meditate on the word, grace is available unto you to act on the word, without struggling. When you see a believer who is shallow minded, it's  as a result of shallow meditation. You need to develop a constant act of meditation.
Joshua 1:8 King James Version (KJV)
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
You shall meditate day and night, so that you will be able to observe what is written in it
If you don't meditate, it will be difficult to observe and do the word.
Meditation will lead to confession of the word. Actually, meditation involves roaring the word.  You meditate up to the point that you confess your realities from the word.
This book of the law will not depart from your mouth...did u see that....

Hebrews 13:5-6
Let  your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord  is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:5‭-‬6 NKJV
God has said something, so that we may boldly say.
When you meditate on what God has said, it brings you to a place of saying your own boldly.
For instance, when you meditate on God's word about healing, it brings you to a place of boldly confessing your health in Christ.

God's word is our life. Let his word take priority. And do you know the word changes, nothing else can do what the word does.

For me, I was not like this before, I could keep malice, I could hold grudges, I lacked love, there was no peace of mind, but the word is changing me,  am not where I used to be. The word is producing in me a right attitude. Now, I am able to give expression to God's love inside of me, now I can't even hold a ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพof a grudge, now I enjoy rest on every angle...all by the word.

Poise loves you
